Hey whats up fellow supra owners, i recently purchased a 1987 toyota supra N/A with a nice straight body and runs good for pretty decent deal, either way where should i start on the engine, i'm goin to make a custom cold air intake and obviously exhaust will be done to but what else should i do right now to yield a good amount of power.Oh its a 5spd too, also, i'm havin a lil bit of a problem in the front end supsension area, i think its the ball joints i'm not sure yet, but either way when i'm driving there is a clicking noise that increases as i speed up and happens when i hit bumps, pretty noiticeable noise, do u think its the ball joints or bearings? lemma knoe please

Oh yeah My list of toyotas are now:

1994 camry coupe 2.2
1986 Mr2 with 1988 engine
1987 Supra N/A

next up is the 1991 to 1993 celica gts 4wd and a supercharged solara hehe someday

Check that your hub bearings are still in good working order, or mabey brakes It sound like something that is constantly in motion. Check all the bushings and look at the shock too. final thought : how old is the tire?

2 days ago I got myself Supra #2068 to roll of the assembly line. So if you find anything for our Gen as far as headers go post it here.

Thanx bro, the tires are brand new but i'll check the bearings and brakes, good suggestions plus it might be the problem since other people said the same thing.

the headers are 190.00 from pacesetter, those are for the black ones, the ceramic coated ones are 300.00 at nopionline.com, thats the only company that makes as far as i knoe, been doin some research. How much performance do u think i'll get out of porting the head and increasing the compression ratio to 10:1 or 11:1 or somethin, n e pistons n e where like that? i'm goin N/A with this one, want to buy a turbo charged one later Who makes good cams, n e thing else i should change sidez the head gasket(not broken) and where can i find that carbon fibre hood they used to have for it that looked like the TRD 3000gt, not on supras.com no more

Figure for about 9-20hp depending on how much you want to pay, for each port to be within 13% of eachother is fairly cheap (600-900) for the better jobs, less than 5% you are looking at 1500 or more. I have a friend with a camaro, he got the heads done within 3%...the job cost him 2200.

As far as increasing the compression...be CAREFUL. IF you take it to 11:1 you will have to run premium ALL the time. I would do the port and polish, deck the head to bump the compression 1/2 a point or so, and get more agressive cams from HKS.

I've heard bad things about the black pacesetters...I may have to go custom on this.
