especially at 17...


Supras are very reliable with one of the most reliable engines toyota's ever made...

My NA MR2 insurance is more than a prelude is.... I don't know about a Supra TT being the same price.... that seems a little off. I pay $110 a month for my MR2.... and like $105 for my 22 year old Supra.

NA is either group 19/20 insurance. Either way, insurance companies are likely to laugh at you for trying. The Supras are very reliable and easy to maintain, the internals are bombproof too so tuning is easy

At 17, the fastest car youre going to realistically be insured for is a 1.8 engine.

At 17..go for a car that you (or the parents) don't have to spend a bunch of $$ on first. Then get into a Supra. I've seen it time and time again...a new driver with a high performance car (not a Civic!) = crash. I'm not saying that your a bad driver just speaking from experience.

In a couple years look me up...I may want to sell my 95 5-speed na then. It will probably still have under 60k on it by then.

I used to pay 200$ a month for insurance when I was 18.

You can do it, you just have to work your ass off for it.

But if you love the car, then it's a no brainer what you have to do .

my friend is 17 and his mom is goin to pay for part of the insurance and his dad is payin for the car. the car he is lookin at is 11500 93 nonturbo white t top with low profile wheels but he is goin to use the stock ones because his mother doesnt like the wheels

well i just got quoted $180 a month for a '93 and i'm 22 living just outside of Washington DC. Check out Erie Insurance. Like was said before, get a good job. hahaha And i agree with 95Supra, buy something else. I recked my 91 MR2 3 months after I bought it when i was 17. Sports cars and imature ages do not mix.

well i just looked at geico for the 93 supra and the quote i got was $131.95/month. man that's freakin cheap for northern virginia.

I have to agree, been driving for 5 years now, just bought my first non-turbo Supra and I can safetly say that without that experience I would have crashed it by now Skidded 3 times already, but learning what not to do is a lot easier with experience

It all varies. When I got my license my first cars were a '97 4Runner SR5 and the '94 Z28. Insurance was and still is pretty damn expensive. Just ask your parents to put you and your car(whichever one you choose)under their insurance, it'll be a lot cheaper assuming they have excellent driving records.
