what all does a 5mge to 7mge swap need?

curious as to how easy it is to swap a 5mge- to a 7mge in my 84 supra, (unless someone buys it). what parts are necessary? or does it swap right in?

wiring, wiring, and more wiring. Might as well go turbo

Physically, it should mount in with the same mounts, even (the 1JZ/2JZ bolt up to Cressidas with factory mounts).

If your thinking about doing the 7mge might as well go with the 7mgte.

i will probably go with the 7mgte as long as it's not too much more money. but what parts are needed for the swap, any? is it neccessary to buy a complete 7mgte with manifolds and all or is there anything i can use from the 5mge on the new motor?

Yes get the manifolds and the electronic wiring harnes.

Also check with some of the other forums changing the whole motor is alot easier then try to upgrade the 7mge with bolt on parts. Also is cheaper

Also if you decide to go with the 7mge you can change te intake flex hose and canister to chrome.
What is needed is a 92-95 honda civic chrome intake (autozone 35.00) On the long side cut off 1.5 " and make sure there are no burrs. Then mount it right on.
Reason for using this on eis because of the vacuum hose from the power steering low idle. If pics are needed let me know I have this on mine 7mge Looks nice.
Also look into getting bigger radiator no matter which one yo ugo with. then mount 2 10" electric fans ( can be mounted to the fan switch on the thermostat housing (yellow Switch)
