I just bought myself a 3.0L V6 24V L-Reg (1993 - New Shape) Supra
Aside from the fact it drinks soooooo much petrol, the ride is GREAT!!!
Anyway, I was wondering if someone here could direct me to a thread (or tell me here) which describes modifications I can make to get it moving faster, maybe to match the turbo?
I hit 150mph today (well must have been around that, dial only reaches 180kph ) This woman was tail-gating me on the motorway in her 1.8L Alpha Romeo T-Spark  It was so cool to slam into 3rd gear and take off
I'm just finding acceleration in 1st gear a little slow, 2nd gear and 3rd are good though.
Just wondering, would a Turbonetics single turbo kit give me any advantages over an original Turbo? Maybe 'cause it's a new piece of kit?
p.s. to any LEA's reading this, I didn't really do what I said I did above, I'm just joking.
regardless of where you are, the correct technical term for the layout of a 2JZ is an 'inline 6'. If you look in ur engine bay the block lines in a straight line rather than two blocks in a V-shape.
The advantage of a converting over to a single turbo is it will reach higher HP ranges and has greater top end power. the drawback is more lag. Single turbos are a much more simpler setup.
im doing some searching on supras, im a 3000GT owner...but im thinking of maybe trading for an NA supra. with our cars theres a huge movement for the NA fwd's converting their motors into Twin turbos... we just use the stock parts from Vr-4's and throw them onto our higher compression NA motors. have people done this with supras or is it just a 3/S thing? we've had some complications but the ones that work out put out amazing results...even better than the vr-4s. one member has his fwd twin turbo running low 12's and high 11s with stock parts from a vr4. basically i just want to know if it would be worth it to buy a non turbo supra and later on convert it to a turbo, or spend the extra loot and buy a supra turbo. thanks for any input
vr-4 is the twin turbo 3000gt, its awd, all wheel steering, 4 wheel independant suspension, 4 wheel abs. puts out about 320hp. doesnt matter, twin or single, whichever is better for supras. we do twins because we can use used stock parts for cheap from other members and put out a lot of power.

The exhaust manifolds for a 2JZ-GTE do not bolt up to a 2JZ-GE. You will need to do an entire head swap to go that route. Might as well do an engine swap if you're going to go through all that. Another option is to turbocharge the NA engine with aftermarket parts. There's one guy running 9's with the stock bottom end!
