If you aren't running a big turbo, I have yet to really justify it. There are gains, but in the order of 1-3 percent. A complete waste on anything CT-26 based. Open the head up for more power, but you don't want to do that.
That said, a port and polish are required as well to take advantage of the cams to any degree. Bigger cams will outflow the head, as a built head will outflow stock cams. The stock arrangement is surprisingly well designed to work together. Changing cams pretty much requires changes to the head to do much.
MKIII NA has next to ZERO aftermarket. Even the turbos have very little. Throttle bodies do not exist to my knowledge. There is one upgrade for the turbos that bores out the stocker, and of course the turbo A had a larger one, but that's it for us.
Lightweight rotating components do not give HP, they simply don't rob as much. There is a difference. It will rev more freely, and allow more power to be spent on the road than getting the shaft turning. How much...hard to say. Nobody's really tried hard to do one on an NA, or has really posted the results.
