HELP!!! check engine light

just wondering if anyone has had the same problem or knows how/what to do to fix the problem???

everything is fine I can drive it for hours without the check engine light coming on but the minute to mash /slam on the throttle the dreaded check engine light comes on (doesn't affect performance, doesn't seem sluggish when light comes on).

the weird thing is, all i have to do is shut off the engine and restart and the light will disappear till I mash on the gas again of course.

any suggestions or answers, please????

thanks ---j---

Jeeves ....it was 87 Supra, front o2 sensor...had 270k KM on the engine. I performed the on dash "blinking engine light", emissions test to locate the problem.

Wait... it had TWO o2 sensors? Are you sure? Because if you are, you've got the emissions regulated California editon of the Mk3. Had more emissions equipment and such. In that model an O2 could have thrown a light, but in a normal one they won't.
