mk3 supra q's

I just bought a 1987 supra turbo non targa for $800.00, the engine is out right now for a rebuild. I was wondering what mods would have to be done or easier to do with the engine out?

I'm also having a hard time finding a short throw shifter anyone know a place to get one?

Plus the interior is trashed so I'm also looking for a place that sells the molded carpet.

With the motor out? Do yourself a favor and do the following:
1) Metal Head Gasket
2) ARP Head Studs

Then, on top of those, you can do just about anything that's in the engine bay, so some suggestions are:
- SupraSport.com 3" turbo elbow
- prepare it for a good intake
- same goes for exhaust/downpipe
...

As for molded carpet, I don't know of any place that sells the molded variety, but it's so simple to cut and install it's not worth it to even find molded.

I went on ebay and got a front strut bar, a new down pipe and a HKS turbo timer for under $300 with shipping. I just ripped out the stock interior and found that the spare tirespot was rusted out the ass with a hole right over the muffler heat sheild. SO now I'm pretty ticked off at the guy who sold me the car

If you plan on the motor making power, DO THE HEAD GASKET!

Seriously. I probably made around 300rwhp and the re-torqued 85ft-lb, ARP Studd'd HG popped like it was nothing.
