What year is my supra

This may seem like a stupid ? but some things a confusing the piss out of me

I recently bought a 88 or 89 supra turbo with a bhg
THe owner sold it to me as an 89 but he title says 88 the stamped plate on the door jam says 4/88 and the big 88 on the bottom. This led me to belive that it was an 88. Then i started to look on this forum. one thread "Rust" someone said that the moldings on 88 and older were all metal backed and the 89 and newer were all plastic. My moldings are all plastic I know some one could have put the plastic moldings on it but thats not yhe only thing. On a thread "what size speakers can i put in" someone said that 88 and older mark 3s had 4 speaker sound systems and 89 and newer had the option of a 6 speaker sound system 2 front, back and 2 in the doors my supra has that system with 2 in the doors. Am i suppost to belive my one is an 89 or are the people on this forum just full of shit?

If you answered #2 in either case, it is likely an 88. If #1, likely 89. No guarantee though, as the parts can be swapped, but most owners don't bother...

slightly off topic, but my preference is to the old, 88-and older tails/spoiler
