Australia Newbie MkIV Questions

As the proud owner of a MKIV Supra, I have a few questions that i'm sure some people that may (More) be practically minded and skilled (than me) will be able to answer.

1. My Temp Guage sits on about half within about 5 mins of me starting the car. Is this a safe/standard temp level for a 1993 model? My other car is a VL Commodore (Australian) that has a 3 litre skyline engine in it. It never goes above 1/4 on the temp scale. Should I be worried about this?

2. It has a stock stereo that cannot pick up the correct frequencies in this country. I do not know where to start regarding pulling the dash apart to remove this stereo. Any help would be appreciated.

Just below half is about normal for the Supra. As for the dash, I assume that your car is RHD, although I'd imagine that it'll be very similar to the LHD cars... maybe just mirrored. Here's a turtorial for a boost gauge install, but it includes steps on how to get to the radio.
