There's no bump in the cam cover, that's a non-vvti motor.

The car is running now. Took a while to figure out why the engine wasn't starting, but once I got that sorted out, it ran beautifully! The car is obviously MUCH quicker now. It's also significantly quieter with turbos in the exhaust stream.... quieter than I thought it would be.

More details of the swap here: www.mkivsoopra.com/project

2jzgte swap questions

I dont mean to beat you down with questions, but I got a few Qs: How much did the swap cost you? what are the main things that you have to modify like the driveshaft, cross member, etc if there was any. what unexpected problems did you run into and how did you fix it? did you have to modify the wiring harness? where did you get your engine set (if it was a set)? sorry about all the Qs.

The swap cost ~$7000 in parts. I needed a USDM engine and all the stock parts to get it certified for emissions testing, and those things command a premium. That figure also includes a bunch of regular tune up parts too. If it weren't for emissions, I would've just gone NA-T. Everything basically bolted straight in... no modifications. The only thing I had to do custom was run one wire for the fuel pump ECU. I drew up a diagram of what I did: http://www.mkivsoopra.com/project/images/fuelpump.gif The stuff in the dotted line box is what I had to modify/add. I got the engine from Powerhouse Racing. Here's my list of parts: www.mkivsoopra.com/project
