Hello everyone, i m new to this forum and want to ask a question
Here is the problem, i found a supra, 97, twin turbo, 12000 miles only, really looking good, seams like some kind of collectioner car, the man put it in the garage, and used it only a bit, it has some more parts installed
Performance/Modifications (installed within last 9k miles):
18x10 rear/18x9 front Momo Sport wheels
Stillen urethane front bumper (lifetime warranty against cracks, fits well)
RMM Stainless steel downpipe
Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust
GReddy PRofecB boost controller
GReddy Boost Cut Controller (BCC; fuel cut removal)
HKS Type 0 turbo timer
HKS Super Sequential blow-off valve
Eibach Pro-Kit springs
KYB AGX 4-way adjustable shocks
White gauge faces
Autometer 52mm Pro-comp boost gauge
new stock clutch disk/pressure plate/tob/pb/snap rings/etc
various underhood brackets powder-coated red
Top Speed cone filter/intake elbow
Champion C63YC plugs @ .035 gap (guaranteed bigger gap than NGK without missing)
Top Speed polished strut tower brace
Top Speed polished shift knob (Supra specific)
Also have a few uninstalled parts I can throw in for a bit extra (Hose Techniques red underhood hose kit, Unorthodox crank pulley/belt, '97-'98 clear turn signals, clear front and rear side markers, and Supra car cover)
And here is the problem, it cost ONLY 7000$ , i m afraid that there is a trap somewhere, but seams like there isn't any, what do you think about that ? ? ?
Normally i buy it tomorow, but would like to have some advice before, since i m student, and the money i put in it is a lot for me
i think u may be mistaken in the price......theres no way it can only be selling for 7gs....my advice....don't buy it....tell me where it its and i'll gladly take it off his hands for that price.....
And since your a student and money is hard, I hope you know what the insurance is on that beast. 7 g's is a good deal. I'd take it. Ones w/ like 30k miles is like 30,000USD around here.
Did you find the add on a website such as ebay or autotrader.com? You have to be careful about online car adds. Many people have been scammed in this same way. By chance is the supra silver and want half of the money now and half upon arival of the car?? No supra owner would ever give up their car after spending THAT amount of money on aftermarket goodies and such low miles. You might want to check out suprastore.com. Often the people who do these scams take the pictures off of the supras that are for sale from this website or other popular supra websites. If you can personally inspect and drive the car, by all means go for it and send your money AFTER you've inspected/driven, but do not send money for something that you haven't. CamNUb is right, isurance would be a biotch, especally for a student. I advise against buying the supra.
Yea, it's a scam. Who would put Champion crap plugs in a Toyota?

I agree this sale sounds fishy. As to copper plugs, they are advantageous approaching spark blow out conditions (extreme boost). Better conductivity than factory platinum or the overpriced and underperforming iridium out there. You can often avoid upgrading ignition components by "downgrading".

Yea, but NGK and Denso make nice plugs.
I went to a parts store the other day looking for NGK Platinums (O.E. on the 4AGZE), they fumbled around and finally got out the Autolite catalog to cross-reference the NGK's. In my most non-pretentious tone I said, "No thanks."
There's something wrong when NGK Platinum's sell for $8/ea. versus Autolite wanting only $2/ea.
Wrong? Marketing of plats as performance is the wrong. They offer longer life...nothing more. I've used champion in all my cars, until the supra. All ran great, though the Supra's set have far outlasted all others with routine annual cleaning. I know very little of autolites, but the delco and champion coppers run like tops.
