UK High performance chips? (+ rev delimiter)

Before I ask about performance chips, could someone tell me how to tell if my '93 na supra has a rev delimiter in it? Need to know so I can get it removed

Anyway, found this on the UK ebay...

Quote:
Performance Enhancer For any petrol car with fuel injection

These mods are being sold everywhere on ebay, my modification has been specifically designed and tested to get the best bhp increase for your car, the chip is of a higher standard than the regular '+20bhp performance chip' and can increase bhp by as much as 25bhp

The modification itself is gold rated, which means it is made to the highest tolerance and ensures safety and protection to your car, as well as high performance.

"UNLEASH" THE POWER OF YOUR BASIC ENGINE!

First of all, NO SOLDERING INVOLVED -Safe & Easy Fitting. You don't need to be mechanic, or have much car knowledge to fit the mod, which should take on average 4-5mins!

FULL INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED.

I also offer an e-mail help service, where you can e-mail me should you have any troubles fitting the modification and i will do my best to assist you.

Free of charge 1st class delivery, despatched within 24hours.

Can be with you within 2 days from now!!!
Please allow for Sundays and Bank Holidays (no postal deliveries)

Can be easily removed for warranty repairs!

Add up to 25BHP instantly!

Now for the technical bit

What is it? The mod consists of a small resistor that tells your engine control unit (ecu) that all of the air coming into the engine is colder than it actually is, and therefore dense and packed with oxygen. The ecu then takes this info and tells the injectors to fuel slightly more and advance the timing. This in turn makes for a more powerful detonation in the cylinders and releases the full potential of your engine.

Frequently asked questions:

Is my car compatible?.

This mod will work on any petrol car with fuel injection, (which is almost every car built after 1988), and normally aspirated.

What will it do for me?

This mod will allow your engine to release it's full potential, your power curve will be smoother with flat spots ironed out, your 0-60 will be quicker so you can get off the line faster and your car will experience an increase in top end speed.

So what do I get for my money?

You get the mod itself and a fitting leaflet that will tell you everything you need to know to get up and running in just minutes

Will it harm my engine?

No, it will not harm your engine at all. As all the mod is doing is telling your engine that the air going in is colder than it actually is in order to gain power, the level to which the timing is advanced and the ammount of increase in fuel injection never exceeds limits set by the manufacturer as it is quite possible that the air is in fact this temperature (ie in winter), so the mod is perfectly safe to use.

This mod only works on normally aspirated injection PETROL engines.

so I can fit this mod to my na Supra right? Anyone tried something similar? Seems too good to be true

NO, it does not work. It is a resistor that you can buy at radio shack or any electronic place for 25 cents. Use the search.... this topic has been covered many times.

EDIT: It will fit any car, but it won't help, if you still want to try, go to an electronic store and ask for a resistor, you can get different sizes, buy 1 of each, it'll still be cheaper!

Hmm... so on a warm day, the ambient temperature will be hotter than what the ECU sees, and it'll advance timing farther than it should. Combine that with a bad tank of gas and you got yourself a blown engine!

Thanks for the warning and the info on everything else

Finally decided what I'm going to do:

I'm going to take my supra here ->

http://tunemycar.com/

And get it super fine tuned

Then go for a power-flow exhaust after that ->

http://www.powerflow.uk.com/

Thanks again

tuning should be done after supporting mods like exhaust and intake, etc..
