is it an auto or standard? 7MGTE correct? sometimes the wiring on the starter is loose, dirty, corroded, etc.. check that first
test your starter with a test light.. the black wire on your starter goes right to the battery, there should always be power..
there should be a black/blue wire on your starter solonoid, have someone put a test light on this, while you try to turn the car over.. If theres power to that light while cranking, but the car doesnt turn over, Your starter is at fault..
If there is no power at the solonoid while cranking, check your ignition switch, starter relay, or clutch start switch or nuetral safety switch..
