Question mods and hp

just wondering how much power all you mk3 drivers are making and what mods you've done to get there, so lets hear it.. 1/4 mile, hp or torque est? if you dont know, what about other sports cars that you've raced and beaten?

the reason I ask is im just lookin for an estimate as to what kind of hp my car is making, and what mods I need to get where I want..
Right now the car is pretty much stock..90' Auto.. The turbo is upgraded to a 57-1, MSD 8.5mm wires, custom ic pipes (from IC to 3000), intake, After tomorrow i'll have a 3" BIC downpipe/elbow and full 3" exhaust, after the exhaust, i'll raise the MBC to 12psi.. there is No dyno available to me, and tracks are all closed for winter...

Damone,
My car was a freak, so I can't say that my numbers are reproducable. But here's what I've had at the time:
HKS SMF Intake
HKS Super Sequential BOV
ApexI AVC-R Boost Controller
ApexI S-AFC 2 (Air/Fuel Controller)
3" Exhaust Piping, Stock elbow, stock muffler, 1 cat (I had no hand in this)
NGK Copper Plugs
Stock Turbo (CT26) @ 9psi (any higher caused Fuel Cut, like I said, freaky)
3-Angle Valve Job
Slightly higher compression from a machined head
ARP Head Studs @ 85ft-lbs
Stock Toyo Head Gasket
- Some Tuning
- Some Suspension Stuff
- Falken 245/45/ZR16's (FK451's)
- Rich A/F Ratios

I got the numbers shown in my sig. 262hp, 315rwtq.

well I have stock fuel system w/no a/f gauges so im probably running pig rich, and I have no way to tune it.. I'd estimate my hp at about 240rwhp with my current set up.. do you think thats a reasonable estimate.. With the 3" elbow/dp and full 3" no muffler or cats

I think next im going to ditch the cheap MBC and get an EVC..

Do you think an expensive aftermarket BOV (HKS, etc etc) is worth getting for an automatic?? or should I just stick with stock, or get a porche or saab bov? I dont plan on goin any higher than stock fuel cut right away

The only A/F gauge a person should ever run is a Wideband. The little LED Autometer gauges are worthless trash (just an FYI). The only time it was A/F'd was while it was on the dyno.

It also depends on altitude. My numbers are SAE corrected though.

The BOV really was because I had 3 Stockers fail on me, and decided to do it once and for all. It's really more of a toy than a performance upgrade by any means. For you, a Saab or Porsche BOV should be fine.

That would be a decent estimate, though you very well could be higher than my dyno's. It's a rather tough thing to gauge.
