i smoked a curb the other day...

i smoked a curb making a turn pretty fast, had it for a second then the rear end drifted left and over-correcting lead to the driver side front wheel dinkin' the concrete curb. My 17" eagle alloy shattered and went flying past me on the road! Anyone know some good, lightweight wheels that look alright on a 92 mk3?

Shattered? Was it magnesium? Mg wheels tend to to that. Aluminum bends, Mg shatters.

they look like magnesium, probly are....they're eagle alloys. i just always assumed they were some type of aluminin alloy. yeah, the wheel EXPLODED! parts of it are totally gone, don't know where they went to.

That is as it should be. I've considered a BBS wheel, but it just dosen't match my boxy MK III. Now that I think of it I should check out what Volvo guys are using.
