theres a sensor under the hood on the driver side.. Right ontop of the fender.. As long as the sticker is still legible, it should say Turbo pressure sensor.. thats where your guage gets its reading from..

Make sure you check the small vacuum hose going to the sensor.. Make sure it is connected.. you might also want to check it for vacuum at idle..

Canada Ipod The 87 Supra

I decided to upgrade my 1987 Supra sound system using an Ipod as shown on Apple.com using a BMW as an example, this being said, and I have the thing, has anyone had experience in this technology that could advise me of any pitfalls before I commence, also the speakers are from the 1987 dynasty though I want the interior to stay original I dont mind changing the speakers under the covers for a cleaner sound.. Many Thanks Particularly Damone for your advice on the sending unit location for the turbo.. Regards Knot Yew

Knot Yew, iPod = Wrong thread.

Personally, the stock boost gauge sucks. It's not even worth having in there. I really like the dashes some Turbo guys have gone to that have the voltmeter there and then have their real boost gauge in the A-Pillar. Makes it look much nicer.

In their age, the stock gauges love not working. My suggestion is to get a cheapie boost gauge, tap into a manifold line somewhere, and plumb it into the interior of the car. Then you've got an accurate measurement of the actual boost you're getting.
