Hey I want to get rid off the popup headlights on my 91 supra and put in non-popup ones, is there any kit out there or anything that I can...please help I hate my ugly popup headlights.
Thanks
kvt,
If you're trying to replace your pop up headlights with built in headlights, I've never seen a pair that didn't look like ass on a Mk3. Just stick with the pop ups.

That's still a pop up head light, and if you look they're actually fog lights, very NOT-Legal.
It depends on what you mean by "legal." If by legal you are refering to the lights requiring a DOT stamp. Then yes it is technicaly not legal. However it you dig into the DOT and your states legal light requirements you might just find that the lights comply depending on what kind of lamps you use. I don't have any head lights on my truck, instead I use an off road driving light mounted at the correct height and within the wattage limitations set out in DOT regs. I have been done a lot of research on what is "road legal" in building my truck. I have found that most regs only apply to vehicles that are being manufactured for sale. The actual laws that govern sreat legality vary from state to state. I'm in Texas right now. The laws in Texas are very lose. I don't need any kind of body. My truck is open wheeled yet still legal. The only thing I need is seat belts, a horn, lights, a whindshield with wipers, and the proper emissions equipment for my year. I was surprised when I found out that things like a hood, fenders, bed, bumpers, etc. weren't exacty covered in the laws. As far as lights go, they will probably never be noticed as long as they are pointed in the right direction and are not too bright. I don't recomend the blue bulbs they sell on ebay. Their blue coloration attracts attention from the cops. The housings are ok just use a normal white halogen bulb from the autoparts store. If you look most of the aftermarket lights for sale are labled for off road use only. Especially when you look at the altessa style lights. That dosen't mean they will get you ticketed. Just use a little common sense when laying out your system.
That's true, but at the same time, I couldn't imagine driving on an incredibly dark (maybe w/dust/rain/etc.) with only a pair of foglights to light my way.
