Canada Shimming the waste gate

Have any of the club members shimmed the waste gate to increace the boost ,, if so what was the result of their efforts,, it seems such an easy upgrade 4- 3/8 washers ,, I am interested in your comments.. Regards Knot Yew

Yep. It works. Not the prettiest method, but effective. You may have to try a couple of times to get it right, and I wouldn't head beyond 10psi with them (boost creep gets worse the more you shim...the door stops being able to open properly).

Also on the cheap, you could also look to ball and spring boost controllers similar to the dawesdevices.com one...should cost little more than $20-50, and have some advantages to the shimming method when getting pressures higher.
