IAT is hard built into the AFM electronics. If it has failed, and not just the wires are bad/harness is shot, replacement is the only option. Expensive option. Get a spare from someone close to you (If you know anyone else with one) and swap theirs in to see what happens.

If you found the AFM, you found the Intake Air Temp sensor. It's built into the same electronics.

Yep. NA cars used a flapper door air flow meter, turbos got the KV AFM system.

You have to replace that whole electronic black box to replace the IAT.

Find one of a wrecked car or someplace like car-parts.com, they're like $600 @ the dealer, and most places don't sell them.

Turbo's uses the Karman MAF method, N/A's used the flapper door method. The two are not interchangeable.

To install the Lexus AFM you need the following:

- Proper 550cc Injectors (and the injector clips, some come w/them others don't)
- Lexus AFM (Metal housing)
- AFM Electronics.

There seems to be mixed words as to whether the Lexus AFM Electronics work or not.

If you've got the proper parts. It's a drop in installation. If you don't have all the parts, it shouldn't be done at all. Just the AFM and you'll lean out the motor. Just the 550s and you'll over-fatten it.

For what it does, the Lexus AFM is great. However, Suprasport.com sells an SSAFM wich has a finer adjustment screw and such. I'd personally use it over the the Lexus casting.

Edit: In fact, they sell the whole thing as a kit: Here. You'll note no AFM electronics are included.
