It may be a perfect fit, however you need the wiring harness, new bell housing for the tranny, ecu and the list goes on.

The shops that carry some of the jdm motors have often had 1jz motors for sale.

If you go to www.supraforums.com, then to the MKIII section, there are a couple of guys there that can import in a complete 1JZ-7M front clip including all wiring harness, etc. They say this is the only easy way to do it. Buy the clip from the windshield to the front bumper. Do a search for a member named TOYPRO, he can hook you up.

The 1JZ may come equipped in japan in the JZA70 but converting it is not as easy as slapping the motor in. You have too get your hands on the very rare R-154 ---> 1JZ 5-speed bellhousing, the front crossmember if you are 89- (although some say it can be done with earlier one) but the most complicated part is the wiring harness change. Even if it was as easy as switching the harness which is VERY difficult, the harness does not bolt up too the MA70 components straight.

Its a pretty major project that costs a lot of money, personally I am gonna wait until the swap is more documented before attempting it, the harness is very scary. If you aren't totally dedicated, then just modify and make a nice 400hp 7MGTE, after tearing it down and putting it back together I can tell you that its a very well built motor, bullet-proof block and high tech head, it is certinaly not as bad as many people say it is.
