hey guys, i asked this in the Lexus forum, and i got help, but the estimates were little too expensive...so how much does it take to implant a 2JZ-GTE into a Lexus SC300? with parts, labor, and all of the necessary things that go along with a project like this...i want to get an estimate from a couple of people so i can make an estimate...

So far the swap on my GS300 where somewhere in the 10000-15000 just in parts and estimated labor since I did all my own.If you do all the work yourself it should cost you 6000$ if you stick with your stock tranny and 10 000$ if you go for a Getrag.Remember there are alot of things you need to do to get this engine running and you loose some features like trac and cruise unless you realy want to make them work. All in US $$ btw ..

the SC300 already has a 2JZ-GE in it... why not just put a turbo setup on it insted of doing a swap??

Some people have done some nice things to the 2jzge but I think just thinking about Twins is what gets most people to go with the GTE.For street use your much better with a GE since it develops nice power with a good turbo system and has more Torque down low compared to a GTE ,only problem is you will probably see 800hp max out of this engine on race fuel.GTE vs Ge I say for street use and no race gas the GE is a better choice but for racing power the GTE is king.

the GE also runs a little higher compression than the GTE, which helps the tourqe. Otherwise, they are identical. You can push just as much horsepower out of a GE as a GTE, you just have to be careful when you tune it.

The GE also runs a different throttle body... kinda crapy if you want to run turbos I guess =) easily changed though
