I have been reading these post for awhile and have got a lot of great info. Still can't seem to figure out my last problem. I have an 87 turbo 5 spd. Just did a jdm swap and have worked out a lot of bugs. Just figuring it out one. Started with rough idle, got that under control and went for a test drive. It doesn't matter what gear it is in it bogs out at 1600 rpm. just like it ran out of gas. Now, I might be an idiot here. I have been working on this for 3 years and just finally changed the gas. I haven't changed the fuel filter...however, it didn't seem likely that this would cause the car to bog out at 1600 rpm in every gear. Doesn't matter how fast of slow I accelerate either. Could it be the filter or something esle. It does not bog at idle when you rev it. Only when the car is under a load. Any suggestions here?
I have the same intake on the car from the origional engine with the origional maf. It worked before the swap, but i've changed so much, i'm willing to try anything at this point. I'll try and locate one. THanks
Fuel filter is cheap, so I'd try it. MAF's are not, but it's something to check as well. I doubt it's a MAF issue, when it doesn't work, the car is almost undriveable.
Is it completely stock?

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
Yes it's stock. The only thing different is the engine we just put in it. I'm not really sure how different it is either. It came from a japanese car. Left the turbo on it. Still have the origional because they didn't gaurantee the one that came with it. I wanted to make sure this one works...at the point i don't know what works. Car idles fine but is almost undriveable. at least after 1600 rpm's it is. Thanks for your help and input. I've been struggling with this for a long time. I'll keep you updated on how things are going.
Thanks, This helps out a lot...i don't feel like i'm stabbing in the dark anymore. hopefully I'll get to working on it this weekend. I'll keep everyone up to date.
