Should be fine, I ran a set of 10"s w/a 400W Amp and it never gave me any problems. However, I would suggest against two 12"s. The bass wave from 2 12" sub's in the hatch of a Mk3 is way too long. The wave will crest outside of the car and people outside will feel more bass than you inside.
