What year? Sunroofs were a rarely had factory option. 90% of 'em out there are aftermarket and you'd need to go to the sunroof manufacturer to get new seals and what not.

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
its an 87, and im pretty sure its factory, its a power sunroof, tilt up, slide back, you know the deal.
Then you've got an incredibly rare model. I'm 99% sure that the 87 was NOT offered in a Power Sunroof variety.
In Fact:
Quote:
1991:
Front speakers get updated to 6.5", and get a larger grille
5-spoke 16x7" rims replace the old 16x7" sawblades Factory sunroof now an option
Subwoofer for stereo now an option (rare)
Square "Supra" emblem on nose replaced with new "T" Toyota logo
Power steering cooler added
All body trim is now the same colour as the body paint
Shadow Grey interior colour introduced (rare, closest to black you can get)
Teal exterior colour introduced
A lot of extra sound deadening material added
Coinholder introduced in 1989 replaced with dimmer switch
As you can see, the sunroof was not an available option until 1991. Yours must be aftermarket if your car IS an '87 model.

Has to be after market i own a 87 and never heard of the power roof as an option from the factory maybe you have a one of a kind car...........interesting
Well, you have to be.
Unless your car is really a 1991 and you can't tell, then it's not stock. You didn't have the option until 1991. Also, Toyota stock sun roof slide INTO the roof, not out of.

it does slide into the roof. its definatly an 87, according to the VIN lookup at least, pictures when i get home, late. Could it be someone took the stock sunroof off of a 90 and had it installed in my 87?
Could be a dealer installed option. Was not factory.
what he said...I got my last car (1998 corolla) with a dealer installed sunroof and body kit. The book from the dealer shows the kit on the list of options which would confuse future owners of that car.

Pretty common here for dealers to get their own local options packs that they can throw on. Usually it's something where the dealer owns a glass shop and they put something on for the extra incentive.
well, im lazy and still havnt taken pictures, the logo on the glass says Securiko or something to that effect, my baby is sitting because i cant afford to put gas in her. I seem to have helped the problem at least a little, just by pressing the seals all the way around so they're snugger. woohoo.
