Oil Cooler Feed, HELP!

OK, just dropped a new 7M-GE in my car and when i was doing up the bolts for the oil cooler feed/pressure regulator i sheard one and i have a oil leak. There's no real space to extract the stud unless i take the engine back out and i have no time at all to do that.

Would it be ok just to put a bolt in the hole and weld it in? this would mean having no oil cooler of pressure regulator, so what i really want to know is, is it ok to run the car without the regulator and cooler?

Quick answer appreciated!

I would definately say that running w/out the oil cooler and regulator is a bad idea. I don't know the flow ratings, but it's bad to remove anything on this car that cools anything. What about a good layer of RTV? I can't picture what you've done exactly, so I'm a tad lost.
