question about tt and na

i recently owned a lancer evolution and its funny becuase we were literaly going over 100+ mph on the freeway one night and this white supra just walked around us like a bolt of lightning, since then i've loved the cars and always known they are the turbo kings, anyway to my question.

i noticed for a tt it runs about 35 grand and for a NA it runs about 18...is the motor the same in the NA as it is in the TT and is it possible to turbo charge the NA engine becuase if it is, it would be smarter to get the NA and just turbo charge it right? but anyway i doubt the engines are the same but i don't have any friends who own supras or know much about them so im asking u guys, thanks for your help.

There are a great number of differences. ECU, wiring harness, hardware, The motor is a bit different (dunno if the N/A has oil squirters in the Mk4), the N/A has higher compression, etc.

It's not really cheap to convert one either.

Heads are completely different as well as those mentioned above. There are turbo kits for the NA, but by the time you spend on the upgrades, you've invested the same as the stock TT. That said, you have a modded car with more base power, but the platform is more limited.

Don't get me wrong, I love Supras, Soarers, hell any Toyota turbo but why would you even care about a supra when you're driving on possibly the second best platform (next to 1 and 2 gz's)? The 4g63 is definately the king of 4 cyl's. Although when working on the evo's, the best performance upgrades you can do is to the drivetrain. After minor bolt on's and beating the crap out of one, my buddy decided to invest in some dif's from turbotrix instead of blowing stock ones over and over. He didn't have lsd in the front anyway. Not a single major engine upgrade and he runs 12.4. I think it can do high 11's though.

Sorry for the off topic rant.

The 1st gen 4G63 was. 7Bolt mains are a bitch.

Also, you think he can shave more than half a second off a track time? Just off that basis I'd assume your buddy is a poor driver then.
