Ok, it's simple.

Look at the fronf of your motor. See the large hose that comes off the radiator, and makes a 90º bend to the left and then goes into a metal part on the front of the motor? Take all the hoses, and bolts out of that rounded metal cover and immediately behind it is the thermostat. Be prepared to get coolant all over stuff, and be sure to have some to top off the radiator when done.

Simply remove the hoses, and 2 (I think it was just two) bolts holding that housing together, and wa-lah it comes off and the thermostat is sitting right there.

ahmedootie, You cannot link to images on YOUR computer. They have to be hosted somewhere on the internet to link them to this forum.

drivinthasupra, Actually, it is [.img] [./img]. Forums use what is called "BBCode". Some allow HTML but not all. BBCode is generally easier, and doesn't open the forum up to wannabe HTML/JS Hackers like HTML possibly could.

Do you mean "how do you open it?" or "how do you remove it?"

IIRC, you need to pull the filter element and under it are some bolts bolting the black box to the metal of the engine bay.

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly.

What wouldn't come out? The thermostat? Did you get the cover off?

The sound is probably you either 1) Reaching the extents of the rack, or if it's while turning it could be that your CV boots are ripped and the CV grease is all gone and your CV joints are going out.
