tranny...

I have a 90 n/a automatic supra. The tranny has been messin up such as not goin into 3rd gear, but lately I don't think the tranny is the problem. My sister jammed it from reverse to drive while still rollin and when I started drivin again it started smokin white smoke, but not from the tailpipe. Something was leaking from the back like where the driveshaft comes out and getting onto the tailpipe and burning. More speed I got this sound such as squealing would get higher and louder. Is this the torque converter becuase that's what i've heard so far...tryin to figure out what to fix cuz torque converter is much cheaper...

Indeed.

There are thousands (?) of parts in a transmission, large or small. Imagine all of them hitting up against something with lots of force... at the same time
