Gurggling Noise ....in Heater Core
Gurgle noise is air in the heater core. The core is the highest spot in the cooling system. It can be caused by getting air in when changing a radiator, hoses, thermostat, or opening the system up for whatever reason. It can be removed by elevating the front of the car (on ramps), draining an inch or two from the system, then letting it idle for 20-30 minutes, with the cap off the radiator. Rev it lightly (2500rpm) for a few seconds every 5 minutes. DON'T let off quickly, as the coolant will shoot up. Ease off slowly. (Put a rag over the opening to save the spray).
BUT....a BHG is the reason it will start gurggling when you have not done the above system openings. It pushes exhaust into the cooling system, thus pressurizing the system. The noise in the heater core is the first sign of "The beginning of the dreaded head gasket job".
Have a shop do a BHG test with a test kit.
