well i finally did it, short shifted my mkIII using the instructions on the supras.com website, must say a very recommended mod, total cost of mod= 40 USD, 20 for shift nob and 20 for the redline 3qt mt90, the throw is still the same length but the stick height is sooooooooo low its ridiculous, even tho the throw is the same length it feels shorter due to the shortened height, just not as much leverage, but throwing it hard anywayz to do a faster shift. One thing tho, i don't knoe if this is normal but we put all the rubber back around the shaft and hole for the tranny but for some reason i can really hear the tranny whine, its weird kinda sounds like a F1 racer now or like some kind of supercharger and gets higher pitch as the speed increases, we think it may be that theres not enough fluid in the tranny, how much does it typically hold? do u think that is the problem or is it because the rubber on the outside of the handle is now gone in order to shorten the stick and all the vibration is transfered to the knob unlike stock where its absorbed by that rubber, i did notice that when u hold the knob the noise is not nearly as loud, like half as much so. i kinda like it tho ; jes worried if its an ok noise or not plus long drives would drive me crazy, buts its ok when i'm hunting down rice

You filled the tranny to spec? Double check this...you could EASILY burn your tranny up in a very short time. Even if its a bit low thats all the more unlubricated moving parts under stress.

I would check your fliud ASAP. that tranny shouldn't have any more noise than a happy kitten
