Hey. I just installed a Turbo kit onto my 1995 Toyota Supra N/A. I am haveing a few problems with it and was wodering if anyone knows why.
Turbo Setup::
T04E Borg Warner Turbo
Custom Manifold
HKS BOV and 50mm Wastegate
Complete custom 2.5" Intercoolerpipeing
Front mount Intercooler
S-AFC II
K&N Filter
THE Problem::
Turbo spools up and boost fine. Car runs great and hauls ass. Dyno showed roughly 300hp. The problem comes if you run the car then push in the clutch, if you leave it pushed in the rpms will drop and the car will die. Also if you stop at a light the rpms will drop and die. You can save it by touching the gas and reving it up. The car works good and runs good but thies problem makes it unbareable. Any suggestions???
THe setup is only running at 7psi. I need to work out the kinks before higher boost. I have adjusted the idle screw. set the idle to 950rpm. Problem still happens.
What kind of a leak? like a vaccum leak?
Yes, a boost leak more specifically..
Is the blow off valve venting to atmosphere? You mention that it'll do this after a hard run. If you pull out of your driveway and roll up to a stop sign and push in the clutch is it fine?

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
Yeah. It seams to be fine when you start it up and cruise under about 3K rpm (before boost). Then it seams to run just fine. L8ly everyonce and a while when I start it up it will die right away, but when you turn the key again it will start up and run fine.
Im loseing my mind over this, its not good to have a nice car in a sh*tty town, nobody can help you, hehe
I am useing the N/A Ecu with a piggyback fuel computer. I have installed a S-AFC II and dyno tuned the fuel mixture. Most turbo kits for the N/A motors do not come with a new ECU
ITs getting worse, now even if you dont drive it hard the idle is crap and she struggles to say running when its stopped??? Anyone know if maybe its the MAF sensor?? Im outta ideas here....might just have to toss er back to stock...
hey y don't u post on www.supraforums.com? there are alot more members there and someone's bound 2 kno...?
i would help if i knew, but i'm shit outa ideas
peace
Hey man i feel wat ur going through. My friends 97 240sx with the sr20 swap has that same problem. After u run it hard and then wen braking and clutching it will shut off if u dont gas it a bit. I think its just not getting enough air cause the turbo...but im not sure. Just try get use to hitting the brake and gas with ur foot together.

No, that's the job of the Idle Air Solenoid (sp?), It doesn't quite work that way.
My best guess is that it's vacuum related.

Car stalls when stopped quickly:
You are driving along and everything is just fine... until you let off the gas pedal and apply the brakes. The engine starts shaking and may even stall. Not a good thing to happen because you lose power steering when the engine dies.
Possible causes:
There may be a serious vacuum leak: Check and replace vacuum lines as required.
I know that's not exactly it, but the brake booster uses vacuum... Other than telling you to check all your lines and make sure your IAC is working, I don't know what to tell ya.

vacuum to boost? Keep in mind that a lot of the emission control systems and, well, a great deal of stuff runs off the vacuum. and when you change the vacuum to boost, all that stuff needs to be changed or it will affect how your car runs. which is why the new computer needs to be installed, and such. best to find a front clip from a turbo car and figure out the differences...
