starter problems

can anyone tell me will my starter wont turn the engine over.... i checked the selenoid and it moves out... now i have the power wire hooked up to the bolt where the blue wire from the motor attaches and the ground to the other bolt and then the ignition wire is connected am i missing anything>????

Does it try and it just never catches? Or what? Give us some symptoms to try and diagnose.

Try hooking the power up direct to the battery (put it in neutral). If it does start, work your way back to the relay and check the wiring/relay.

Side note: Many aftermarket alarm installs draw just enough power to cause problems on the now ancient wiring, and many shops choose the starter power wire for it (easy to find). Finding a new wire and rerouting the alarm power is recommended if this is the case. If you have an immobilizer, there may be a problem with it's relay as well.

My personal thoughts are that this is a Cam Position Sensor issue. The complaint sounds too similiar..
