ok so I have the ARP studs comming (ordered on friday) ... and i may have found a excellent deal on the gskt ... i have sent the ebayer a message asking if its the metal gasket or not .. looks like it to me ...

Looks like a factory head gasket set or similiar. Metal head gaskets are sold by names like Cometic, HKS, Greddy, etc.

still havent heard back from the ebayer ... whats your opinion on the factory gasket , with the ARP head studs @85 ft/lbs on a ~400 hp engine .

IMHO, it's no good for a 400HP motor. Get the block decked and the head machined, then go with ARP studs @ 85-90 ft-lbs, and use a good 1.2mm (May vary depending on head work done) metal head gasket. I'd recommend Greddy (which only comes in 1.5 and 2mm IIRC) or Cometic (all shapes and sizes).
