4th Generation Thinking of upgrading to MK4TT totors and calipers

Im interested in upgradeing my brake system to the MK4 supra twin turbo rotors and calipers. I have heard that some people have clearance issues with some types of 17" wheels. Is there any truth to this. If so, can someone give me some info on this issue.

Thanks a lot guys
Jim

I'm confused... What type of car do you have? as a Mk4 (Gen4 Tag) you should already have the TT brakes...

Nope, I have a MKII MR2 widebody with a Turbocharged V6 installed. The rotors from a MK4 supra fit on my car and the calipers will work with an adapter braket. My track wheels are 17" and Im concerned that due to the shape of the rim, the calipers may hit the wheel. So before I purchase all the componenets to do this upgrade I want to be sure I wont have issues with caliper clearence inside the wheels.

Im basically asking if anyone has had trouble fitting 17" wheels on a TT supra.

I have heard of problems with certain wheels though it depends greatly on things like offset.

So, you think it was the caliper hitting the center support section of the wheel, not the outer wheel itself? If thats the case, couldent the problem be solved with a small spacer?

Can someone verify that this is what the problem has been with 17" wheels.

Registration is dissabled at that site so I cant get access. I need to find out whats up with this issue soon. I already ordered the new tires for my wheels
NT555R II Extreme
and at that price you could say im fairly commited to my wheel choice

itll probably hit the back of the wheel (behind the spokes) dunno if a spacer is going to make it fit though, the mr2 has a camry like fwd offset and a supra tt brake conversio on a camry will even hit with many 18" wheels.

youd be better off going for the supra discs but keep ya stock calipers.
