Is there an internal difference between 7M-GE and 7M-GTE?

I'm asking because I know that for most of he 3sge's life it's internals have been the same as the 3sgte. So if I were to buy a non-turbo Supra wanting to put a turbo on it (to save on insurance), would I be comprimising the integrety of the engine more than the turbo on the 7M-GTE?

98% of the engines are identical, except for the following, from the top of my head.

The turbo pistons have oil-squiters on the underside of the piston to cool the combustion surface better.

The piston shape is different, changing the compression.
[8.4:1-turbo versus 9.2:1 for the n/a]

the na and turbo have different cams.
[some guys have installed na cams in turbo engines for more power]

na engines use older style distributor off cam, with wires going directly to plugs. turbo engines have CPS off camshaft which sends signal to coil packs to send spark to plug.

Many guys have turboed na engines, and many guys have swapped in turbo engines into n/a supras, both work well, but both are also alot of work.

The GTE block has the squirters...not the pistons

Other than that, there are minor differences between the AFM's and the trannys. The NA tranny only lasts a month of so before it grenades under the 230+ hp from the turbo motor
