I know that the 3 generation are insured at the same rate as some high end sports cars and insurance would be like 2000 for 6 months for me. I'm 16, got my license 5 months ago and have been driving with a clean record. Not like it really matters because I'm going to figure it'll be boner ass expensive. But anyway, What would my insurance be around for a older supra? '80-'90, I guess. It doesn't REALLY matter if i have a twin or even a turbo. For insurance sake!
I have 2 jobs, so i could handle 100 and up some a month so, I'm hoping a older supra would fall into the category of my price range. So if anyone has any information on my dilema, and you could fix it, tha'd be great!
^ Maybe if you have a HORRIBLE driving record. I pay $175 a month, 9 outta the year... for my MR2 AND Supra. That is 18 with 3 moving violations... and that isn't basic liability.
i pay 140$ a month for my 87 n/a. im 24 with no violations. i do have good coverage half a million single limit, but the car isnt covered(it was cheap anyways). but i wanted to high coverage, after my last accident i had 200,000$ in medical bills just for myself, with NO insurance... so yea get as much coverage as you can afford.
I don't know who you go through, but with mine i can have one car as long as it is newer and have another car that they don't put the youthfull drive and crap on. So my main car an 89 geo spectrum is like $50 a month and my 87 supra is $18. And i do have one speeding ticket and that is liability only. So you might check into sumthing like that. Hope it helps.
Damn, In michigan we have something called PLPD....basically they cover the person you hit if its your fault...I have AAA...I had 5 points on my license within the first few months of driving, and a few no-point tickets...that was when i was 16, so thats on my record as well as a federal MIP (minor in possesion) and a state MIP, im 19 now on my own insurance plan with a 86.5 n/a Supra and im paying about $65 a month and I think thats only 10 or 11 months out of the year. Not to bad here...
I would just check into as many different insurance companies as you can, usually theyre all about trying to get it cheaper than the last guy cause they want more clients. They usually have different discounts too, like "good grades discount" and "multi-car discount" (that would work if you are under your parents still). I would suggest checkin into different companies

thanks, so to save my money, i would get a n/a. how much less hp do they have compared to turbos of the same year?
i am with american family on my parents plan right now.
i'll give the guy from AGI a call in a day or so.
i cant get internet quotes cause im under 18. bs
thanks for the input.
i want a n/a and a turbo install is a nessesity.
i dont want full coverage, since the car only cost 6000 tops...
i'd just get the bare bone insurance, if i crash, nothing is covered and i dont get any money and i dont get it repayed. like i hit a deer, file insurance claim, and get free repair, or cheap repair.
and im a safe driver so im not worried about hitting anyone.
i pay 50 for my geo, so im looking at 130?
