Question MK2 Supra Speakers---

I'm trying to upgrade my speakers on my 1983 MKII supra, I know the sizes of the rear, but how do you get to the fronts (just to the left and below the steeringwheel), and what size are they?

Much appriactive of your help, sorry for the spelling, long day allready and don't know if there is a spellcheck here.

THANKS in advance

If the MKII is the same as the MX73 (85-88) Cressida, then you'll be seeing 4" speakers up front.

(Cressida has 5x7's in the rear far as I know)

Its the ovals in the rear, but on the fronts, they are small, so 4 sounds about right, but how do i get into them? do i have to take my entire dash apart to get to them?

They are actually 3.5" To run a 4" youll have to do some slight mods..To get to them take out the bolt on the left side of the dash in the door jam.Just open the door and look at the side of the dash and youll see it..Then on the right side of the steering column youll see a small plasic rectangle..Pop this out with a flat blade screwdriver and youll see 2 more bolts..Take these loose..On the left side of the column there is another panel that holds the interior light switch..Pull off the knob and pop out the panel like the other one.. There might be one more bolt in there if i remember corectly..All of the bolts are 10mm..Dont foget to take off the very bottom panel above the pedal assembly first though or youll have a hell of a time getting it loose..Its only held on with 3 or 4 screws. Then you can pull the lower dash off and have full access to the speaker..If you pull out the inside of the glove box you can get to the Pasenger one also..Im running some Blapuant's in my dash.. Dont use them any more though no that i have some custom door pods..Check the link on my sig youll see..
