Lol!!

Fancy meeting you here.

Yea, I had a turbo MKIII and a non turbo MkIV . . .

Want to get teh skinny on what to look for before I drop some cash.

Looking for a weekend driver . . . I have been thinking about an M3 but a Supra will be worth some cash in 5 years.

I may start with a non turbo, get my hands dirty then move to a twin turbo . .

start out twin turbo...its not worth it going na->t, u don't get good resale, and u end up spending alot more just to make it stock with a twin turbo... www.supraforums.com or www.supramania.com are good forums...but if u have questions...ask and i will help as much as i can, and i'm sure people like jeeves and bgreiger would b glad to assist you, provided you use the search function prior to asking

Been doing a lot of searches!! I like to try that first . . but did not see a lot of info on the MKIVs - at first glance looks like a lot of MKIII owners are posting here . . . even more so seems that many of the MKIIIs are saying that 3s are better than 4s. Do not want to offend anyone, but I have owned both. NEVER touched them under the hood – the MKIII was turbo and the MKIV was non-turbo. The non MKIV was till much faster than the MKIII turbo. That MKIII was a BOAT!

Before I came in stepping on a lot of peeps toes I do not know, I wanted to move to a forum with a lot of MKIV owners . . .

For instance the infamous turbo death - did not yield many good threads when I performed a search. Also did not see a thread on average life of a turbo vs. non turbo vehicle.

I restored a 240Z a few years back and have done some mechanic-ing . . . figure if I get a 10 year old supra, I will be getting my fingers dirty again. . So, I figured I would start on a non-turbo get it nice and refurbed for re-sale and get an idea if I want to dig in and get DOWN and dirty on a turbo.

I can get non-turbos all day long for a lot less than a turbo. I can then dig in and see if I am going to have the desire like I used to. If not I sell it and maybe out a few bucks.

Also, I will know what i am looking at when I decide to drop bigger money on a turbo. AT the age of these cars, I do not think banks will finance them . . .so did not want to let go of that much cash without a decent amount of experience . . .

BTW, I have been checking ebay, autotrader, supratraderonline and some google searches. 2 of every 5 supras are SCAMs!!!!

Gonna be tough finding a good one.

How about buying someone else's project. Alot of times people start to build these cars up for high HP, then they quit halfway through or when they're done. You can take advantage of that and finish off where they left off and probably get some good parts through it.

I'm sure the Supra Forums have some people selling their projects.

But I too would rec. starting with a Turbo version if you are going to go turbo.

Where have you been?

Where have you been?

I kind of want a stock one that I can do some "bolt ons" and then offer the old parts for someone that wants a car that is original - when I go to selling it.

Most those sites are known for their supra scams.. people even say autotrader is.. although thats where ive bought both my supras, with alittle help from supraforums. You'll definately find what youd want on supraforums, and although some *may* be scams, they get caught pretty easily there.

Anyways, where you located? Anywhere in or by FL?
