the speed rating does not always me the tires are gonna wear out super fast, they do make high speed rating tires with a good wear rating on them, from the expeirnce of all the low profile high performance tires ive had when you pay more on the tire they will last a while

i had a set of these on the 18s on my Tbird in High school on the rear, this is with a shift kit that spins wheels in the 1st to 2nd shift and a high school driver with a low 14 sec car, so you can imagine my driving style, but anyways i got a solid 25k out of these, and even took them to the strip twice for a few runs, but if you threw tire rack you will see people get alot of miles out of them.
so all things consider if you pay 75 bucks for a Z rated tire, odds are its gonna wear out super fast but i think if you spend a little more money, you will get a better wear rating.
and this does not pertain to every tire out there, im sure there are a few tires that dont conform to this oppinion.
