I lived in southern California for 34 years, up until 2 years ago. Traffic flowing at 85-90 is perfectly normal. It depends on the freeway, though, since before I moved CHP seemed to be cracking down on speeders a bit more, especially on the I-210 and I-15. It took some SERIOUS adjustment for my wife and I here in NC. She got her 1st ticket 1 month after moving here, and I got mine 2 months after moving here. It was hard to get the fast and aggressive CA driving out of our systems.
