Borrow a GPS from a friend or neighbor and go for a ride. It isn't unusual for a speedometer to be off a little (usually a percentage which is why you're sensing a larger variation at higher speeds).

DOT allows a 10% error so if yours is less than that you're not likely to get any satisfaction from a dealer.

If the error 'really' is bothersome you might want to check out an electronic speedometer correction device. It's basically a tiny computer that's connected between the speed sensor and speedometer head unit. You set DIP switches to account for whatever % error you have. The result is a speedometer reading that's dead on at all speeds.
