A. Is out of the question. Pep Boys will only do the work if they installed the drums and other parts themselves. If you are lucky and go talk to them first they may inspect that drum for you if you bring it in and possibly exchange it, if they find it out of round (warped).
B. They probably won't take the used drums back unless you can show them they are definitely out of round and then their policy may only be to exchange them. You have to check with the store.
C. It's your money, but I wouldn't do this unless you first varify that the drum is actually warped. What if it is something else, like a brake spring that came loose and is wedged between the shoe and drum. Remember, a warped drum is the most logical problem (I said in my original post "most likely that drum is warped....) but it is not the only possible problem. I have even seen brake shoes come apart and cause something like this. You really have to be certain what the problem is. You really need to do some diagnostic work here first.
