'94 1.8 Corolla

I have a '94 with 216,000 miles.I have had the starter rebiult once and new belts installed about 4,000 miles ago.Oil changed every 3-5000 miles. This car has never had the plugs changed.I have told myself that I'm not going to change them until it starts missing or gets hard to start.I'm just wondering when I do change them, how can I keep from stripping the threads after all this time? Thanks!
