Question about the Crank Angle Sensors

To anyone that can help:

I'm in the process of installing a Haltech E6X into an 87 Celica with a tourbocharged Jap spec 4AGZE motor. I've gotten most of the wiring done, however, I'm having trouble figuring out the wiring for the Crank Angle Sensor. At least, that's what I think it's called. I'm referring to the little box that hangs off to the driver side of the head near the front of the motor when configured for front engine rear wheel drive (opposite of coil side). Does anyone have any details as to how the sensor works and what wires I would use for the Haltech (or any other stand alone computer for that matter)?

I've done a few searches here but I haven't yet found anything on this. Also, I'm looking to use aftermarket coils since I've not been able to get the mating connectors for the stock coils. Does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks!
