2nd Generation best short shifter

i am a new 2gen mr2 owner... i've been driving with short shifters... now my MR2 is totally stock... looking for the best short shifter out there.. would anyone advise me? thanks a mil!

Here's my opinion:

TRD - short enough, best feel and throw

B&M - shortest you'll find. Best looking. Can be a bit notchy without new shifter bushings.


I've used both. If you're strictly racing, use the TRD. If you just want the shortest and best looking shifter, and can deal with the slight notchiness, get the B&M.

I have TRD and I like it. You will have less headache with TRD because it will fit for sure.

trd kit is fine...i would go for the b/m if you want the shortest throw....

2nd Generation

i don't need to use it for performance... for comfort... i just cant stand the stock shifter... i used to have an OBX on my mitsubishi mirage..

what do you guys mean by best looking? i am confused... i don't mind it looks like stock.. i just want to shift faster when i shift.. thanks

B&M is shortest, but can be notchy.

TRD is shorter than stock, and has the fastest/smoothest throw.

thanks for the advise..... what is the avg. price on TRD shifter? i saw one on ebay.. cost 130s... is it about right? or there are cheaper ones???
