Gen1 16v low comp or high comp

i have a buddy whos getting me a high comp 4age 16v for $300. i was wondering if its better to get the high comp or just fix up my 16v 4age. and are the aftermarket parts interchangable.

aftermarket parts are interchangeable. remember that with the higher compression, you should be more aware of your ignition timing and your petrol octane rating.
