MKII problem

ok, my brother brought over his 91 mr2 turbo, and he's having some (more) problems. the car stutters when in first coming from a light under 3k, and sometimes does it in low rpm's in 2nd and 3rd, and i got it to do it in 5th. the whole damn car shakes and jumps.

the car has a shit load of modifications done: (i'm just reading off of the list that the p.o. gave him. i don't know wha most of this stuff is.)
ct-26
3" downpipe
greddy power evo
twos ru's MBC
techton ecu
46 trim compressor (stock injectors)
multi layer steel headgasket

could this be a MAF problem? or does it have something to do with the ignition?

Do a tune-up.

Check ignition timing.
Replace all ignition components.

My guess would be ignition tune up sa BDSL said .. new TOYOTA cap, rotor and wires and some NGK plugs.

Did you happen to mess with the AFM?
There are 2 screws on the side of that appear to hold the big wire onto it.
If you undid those screws you BROKE the AFM.

yeah those 2 screws are very decieving. i did the same thing only i was removing it very slowly and saw it wasnt spose to come off like that and put it back in. luckily the soldered connections werent damaged. theres a small square clip that u use to remove the MAF plug. took me a while to notice it.
