Huge Tranny Problem

I noticed today after practice that my stich on my 5 speed 91mr2 wasextremely wobbly, and by this i mean that you could barely flick the shifter and it would change gears, after parking it i came back out to notice the shifter is stuck in 2nd gear, and will not move left or right, but will move foward and back, is this a major problem or could something be malfunctioning with the little actuating rods that attach to the shifter?

I'd check the shift linkage.

Get under the car and try moving the linkage manually. That way you'll know if it's from the tranny or from the shifter inside the car.

Hopefully it's the latter.
