Noob Question about a 3SGTE swap...

I've asked arround my local import tuning shops (most of them work on hondas, and there arn't many MR2 owners where I live) and they haven't been able to give me any info on weather or not I need to drop or lift my 3SGTE into my 93 NA. I've swaped front mounted engines before (mostly RX7s), but have no experience with mid engine cars. Is it possible to drop the motor in or is the engine compartment too small? The engine compartment on my car looks like it has a lot of room. What can I do?
