2nd Generation mr2 turbo problem/ need help

i'm new here so dont mind me asking this if it was already asked b4. okay here is my problem.. when the car starts to boost, the car would jerk and bog like fuel cut or something. if you depress the gas pedal the car would hesitate and jerk. but if you just touch the gas it would boost fine until 4500rpm the it hesitate and starts jerking. i checked the turbo for play and there is little in/out and left/right play. but not enough to make the turbo bad. any ideas or advice to whats going on with my car?? thanks

Generally this type of thing is one of three things:

1. Ignition ~ how old are the cap, rotor, wires and plugs? What kind of plugs?

2. BOVs ~ aftermarket BOVs can really make the car run poorly. On that line, I would also be worried about boost leaks in the system.

3. AFM ~ Did you play with your AFM at all? If you undid the 2 screws on the side of it you could have damaged the unit and that would cause lots of problems.

have not checked the cap/rotor or plugs yet.. the car is stock with no aftermarket parts of any kind. and i did not mess with the afm either.. it just jerks and hesitates when boost starts to build.. also boost gauge will drop to 0. really need to know whats up b4 i start tearing everything apart. thanks all

I would start with your ignition components... wires and plugs to start. Then do the cap and rotor.

What date is printed on your wires?

If it were me, I would buy brand new TOYOTA cap, rotor and wires and some NGK copper plugs. I suspect this will cure your problems.

You able to get new TOYOTA wires, cap and rotor in stock somewhere?
Wow.

What about your spark plugs? Did you replace those? What gap?

check the spark plugs and see if the exchost manifold gasket is leeking and if not i would say you are due for crankshaft work

how could it be the crank?? it drives fine just doesnt boost well. its cuts when gas is applied harder then normal driving.. it will boost till redline if u just keep your feet at a certin point.
it also eats a grip of gas and it backfires often. i have a feeling that it may be getting too much fuel and then boost cut or turbine wastegate not holding. i mean the car idles fine doesnt misfire. oh yeah also when it start to boost and then boggs the boost gauge would drop to negative. shouldnt the boost gauge raise to postive when revving? because im not getting that when i rev. thanks for all your opinions .. still need help thanks

pippes - pipes
lernd - learned
holle - whole

so on and so forth.

Sorry for critiquing, but i can't take you seriously with spelling errors like that man.
